Eastern State Penitentiary is a preserved 19th-century prison where visitors can explore cell blocks, prison yards and exhibits about incarceration, including Al Capone's restored cell. Estate of Evil is a haunted-house experience inside Hersheypark Dark Nights, taking visitors through a sinister mansion filled with themed rooms and live scares. Fort Mifflin is a surviving Revolutionary-era fort on the Delaware River and saw intense bombardment during the 1777 defense of Philadelphia. The 1868 Gudgeonville Covered Bridge developed generations of folklore about phantom hoofbeats and ghostly figures around Elk Creek. Arson destroyed the historic covered portion in 2008 and the crossing was rebuilt, so travelers now visit the same folklore location rather than the original covered bridge.

Haunted Coal Mine is a mine-themed walk-through haunt included in Hersheypark's Dark Nights event. Visitors encounter underground-style sets, actors and horror scenes during select autumn event nights, not as a year-round standalone coal-mine attraction.

Hotel Bethlehem stands on a historic Main Street site associated with hospitality going back to Bethlehem's early years. Guests and staff have reported ghost stories throughout the building, including persistent lore surrounding Room 932, while the property remains a fully operating hotel.

Hundred Acres Manor is a large Pittsburgh-area seasonal haunt that combines several themed horror environments into one continuous attraction. Live actors, detailed sets, food and midway-style extras make it a destination haunt operating on selected fall nights.

The stone Jean Bonnet Tavern dates to the eighteenth century and served travelers along the historic Forbes Road and Lincoln Highway corridor. The owners openly document generations of ghost stories involving apparitions and unexplained activity, while the building continues to operate as a tavern and inn.

Twenty-year-old Jennie Wade was killed inside this house by a stray bullet during the Battle of Gettysburg, making her the battle's only civilian fatality killed by direct fire. The Logan Inn traces its history to 1727 and is one of New Hope's oldest continuously used buildings. Its long-running ghost lore centers on rooms and hallways where guests have reported apparitions and unexplained activity, while the property remains an active hotel and restaurant.
Brownsville, PA
Nemacolin Castle grew from an eighteenth-century trading-post site into an elaborate nineteenth-century mansion overlooking the Monongahela River. The Brownsville Historical Society opens the castle for scheduled tours and events, including programs built around longstanding reports of unexplained activity.
Jim Thorpe, PA
The former Carbon County Jail opened in 1871 and is infamous for the executions of men accused of belonging to the Molly Maguires. Cell 17 contains a dark handprint that local lore says repeatedly returned after attempts to remove it, and visitors can see it on seasonal guided tours of the jail.

Pennhurst State School became nationally important after its abusive conditions were exposed and legal challenges helped push the disability-rights movement forward. Built in the 1850s, Sachs Covered Bridge carried both Union and Confederate troops during the Gettysburg campaign and is now preserved as a pedestrian bridge. It later accumulated extensive ghost lore involving apparitions, phantom sounds and Civil War soldiers, making it one of Gettysburg's better-known paranormal stops while still being a legitimate historic structure visitors can walk across.

The Bates Motel & Haunted Hayride is a major Philadelphia-area Halloween attraction combining a haunted hayride with the Bates Motel walk-through and additional outdoor scare experiences. It operates on select dates during the fall season and is built as a theatrical haunt rather than a historic motel.
Erie, PA
Erie's Union Station opened in 1927, and the Brewerie's own history preserves the local legend of "Clara," a child said to have died on its marble stairs and linger in the station afterward. The Brewerie has operated here since 2006 as a normal restaurant and brewpub, with ticketed Haunted History Tours offered on selected dates.
