This sprawling mountaintop complex began as a tuberculosis sanatorium, later became a state hospital and then a prison before closing in 2013. Its empty cellblocks, medical buildings and tunnels are now used for scheduled historical tours, photography and paranormal investigations; the property is controlled and should never be entered outside an authorized event.
