Fitzwilliam, NH
The Fitzwilliam Historical Society preserves this nineteenth-century house as a local museum filled with period furnishings and artifacts. Staff and visitors have reported unexplained sounds, voices and other alleged activity, including stories of multiple spirits and even a phantom cat. Tours are currently arranged by appointment, so visitors should contact the museum in advance.
Nashua, NH
Fright Kingdom is an indoor haunted attraction complex built around multiple themed environments, monsters and elaborate sets. The 2026 schedule includes its main Halloween season from late September through October with additional special events later in the year. Admission is ticketed and dates vary by event.
Lincoln, NH
Jean's Playhouse turns its theater into an immersive walk-through horror experience called GHOST LIGHT. The 2026 event is scheduled for selected nights from October 9 through October 31 and uses theatrical performers, sets and effects rather than a conventional stage show. Tickets and age recommendations should be checked before visiting.
Nashua, NH
This small historic cemetery has developed an outsized reputation among New Hampshire ghost hunters. Reported experiences include mist-like figures, a sensation compared with walking through water and sightings of a dark hooded form. The claims are unverified folklore, and the cemetery should be visited quietly and only during permitted hours.
Concord, NH
This Margaritas restaurant occupies Concord's former police station and jail, and several old cells remain incorporated into the dining area. Local ghost stories describe a presence nicknamed "George," and paranormal investigators have visited the building. Even without the haunting claims, eating inside preserved jail cells makes it an unusually tangible stop.
Lee, NH
Haunted Overload transforms the woods of DeMeritt Hill Farm into a large-scale outdoor haunt filled with elaborate handmade sets, towering monsters and theatrical lighting. It has become one of New Hampshire's best-known seasonal Halloween attractions. Admission is ticketed and operations are limited to the fall season.
Newport, NH
The historic Newport Opera House has been investigated by paranormal groups after reports of unexplained sounds, shadowy figures and unusual experiences inside the building. Its preserved stage and upper-level spaces give the stories a strong physical setting. Access is through performances, events and authorized tours rather than unrestricted exploration.
Hart's Location, NH
The Notchland Inn sits near the setting of one of the White Mountains' enduring ghost stories. Nancy Barton reportedly died in 1778 while searching the winter wilderness for her missing fiancé, and later folklore describes her spirit wandering the area around the old road and inn property. The inn remains an operating lodging property, so visitors should respect guests and private areas.
Bretton Woods, NH
The grand 1902 Mount Washington Hotel is associated with stories of Carolyn Stickney, whose apparition is said to appear in Victorian clothing and who is often nicknamed "the Princess." Room 314, once part of her private suite, is particularly tied to the hotel's ghost lore. The property remains an operating resort, so paranormal interest should not interfere with guests.

Pine Hill Cemetery is widely nicknamed Blood Cemetery because of the Blood family buried there, especially Abel Blood and a gravestone whose carved hand helped fuel local legends. The organization that preserves the property has hosted paranormal programs and investigations rather than distancing itself from the folklore. This restaurant occupies a historic building that has accumulated stories of apparitions, footsteps and unexplained activity. Its ghost lore has been publicized alongside the building's long local history, making it one of New Hampshire's easier haunted stops to visit without joining a special tour. Durham, NH
Built in 1649, Three Chimneys Inn occupies one of the oldest surviving homes in New Hampshire and still operates as lodging. Local ghost lore centers on a presence called Hannah, said to be connected to a drowning in the Oyster River and blamed for unexplained disturbances involving electronics. The haunting is folklore, but the building itself is a legitimate historic inn visitors can stay in.
Tilton, NH
This historic inn has survived multiple fires and accumulated stories of unexplained footsteps, apparitions and other paranormal activity. One of the best-known legends concerns a young girl named Laura, while the Sanborn Room has also been singled out in ghost stories and investigations. It remains an active inn and restaurant rather than a dedicated haunted attraction.
Wilton, NH
Vale End Cemetery is associated with the legend of a glowing female apparition called the Blue Lady, often linked in modern retellings to Mary Ritter Spaulding. The story has become one of southern New Hampshire's better-known cemetery legends despite limited historical evidence for the supernatural claims.
