Funland’s Haunted Mansion is a classic boardwalk dark ride known for its unusual hanging ride vehicles and generations of handmade scares. The original version is in its final operating season in 2026, with the attraction scheduled to close for 2027 while a reimagined Haunted Mansion is developed for a planned 2028 debut. These historic tavern buildings hosted travelers, political figures and social events in early Alexandria and are now preserved as a city museum. The site is also bound to the Female Stranger mystery, whose unidentified young woman allegedly died here in 1816 and is said in local lore to still haunt the building.

A marble staircase, stained glass and grand lobby survive inside this 1907 border-town hotel, which rebuilt after a major fire. Local stories of unexplained footsteps and apparitions add paranormal lore to an operating historic hotel.
Coventry, RI
The 1770 homestead of Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene preserves period rooms and artifacts connected to one of Rhode Island's most important military figures. Visitors and paranormal groups have also reported footsteps, voices and other unexplained experiences in and around the house, though these remain folklore rather than verified phenomena. Jean's Playhouse turns its theater into an immersive walk-through horror experience called GHOST LIGHT. A Staten Island legend tells of a Hessian drummer named Ernest and a young Van Pelt girl called Pretty who became friends in 1776 and died the same year. Annapolis ghost walks take visitors through the old waterfront and colonial core for stories involving historic taverns, pirates, former residents and reported hauntings. The current tour meets around Market Space on scheduled evenings, so this is a ticketed tour rather than an always-open attraction.
