Summerville created a giant batch of sweet tea on June 10, 2016, filling a custom oversized Mason jar with more than 2,500 gallons to set a Guinness record. The permanent jar remains near Town Hall as a roadside monument to the record attempt and the town’s claim as the birthplace of sweet tea.
