These stark white cliffs above the Susquehanna are not natural limestone bluffs but piles of industrial waste left by a nineteenth- and twentieth-century quarry operation. They are reached by walking or cycling the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail, with additional ruins from the former company town of Billmyer nearby.
