Increase Mather and his son Cotton Mather are buried together in Copp's Hill Burying Ground. Cotton became deeply connected to colonial writings about witchcraft and defended the Salem witch trials in 'Wonders of the Invisible World,' giving this otherwise modest brick tomb an unusually dark historical association.
