Robert Graham's 24-foot bronze arm and clenched fist was installed in 1987 as a monument to heavyweight champion Joe Louis. Suspended beneath a pyramidal frame near Woodward and Jefferson, the sculpture has become one of Detroit's most unmistakable pieces of public art.
