This extraordinarily elaborate 1776 gravestone crowds together a skeleton, scythe, sun, moon, ouroboros, angels and other mortality symbols. It is an unusually dense example of New England funerary art and looks closer to an occult illustration than a typical colonial marker. Visit the burial ground respectfully during permitted hours.
