Roger Williams and his wife Mary were reinterred beneath the large monument at Prospect Terrace in 1939. Their earlier burial became famous because an apple-tree root grew through the grave in a human-like shape, the same root preserved by the Rhode Island Historical Society. This stop completes that story at Williams's present resting place.
