On July 31, 1966, witnesses stranded at Beach 6 reported a luminous metallic object descending near the beach, an incident later investigated as Project Blue Book case 10798. Beach 6 is still an ordinary public beach at Presque Isle State Park—there is no UFO monument—so the physical stop is the location associated with the documented Erie UFO story.
