Pocomoonshine Lake is tied to one of Maine’s lesser-known lake-monster traditions. Stories recorded in the region describe a huge serpent-like creature and strange trails supposedly left as it crossed between bodies of water. The coordinates lead to a legitimate public boat-launch access point, not to a claimed encounter location.
