Hidden surprisingly well among trees near the Outer Banks visitor center, fourteen stainless-steel wing-shaped pylons commemorate one hundred major moments in aviation. The installation also contains a bronze globe, the poem “High Flight,” and a time capsule intended to remain sealed until 2103.
