Local legend says Moll Dyer was driven from her home on a freezing night in the late 1600s after townspeople accused her of witchcraft, and that her frozen body was later found against a large rock. The stone associated with the story was moved in 2021 to Tudor Hall, where it is displayed outside the St. Mary's County Historical Society.
