Opened in 1887 after an earlier theater burned, the Lexington Opera House remains an active performance venue with ornate nineteenth-century architecture. Staff and performers have also passed down ghost stories involving unexplained sounds and figures, earning the theater a place on Kentucky's paranormal tourism trail.
