A large earthen burial mound in Juniper Hill Cemetery contains the remains of James DeWolf, a U.S. senator who became enormously wealthy through the transatlantic slave trade. The unusual family tomb was later broken into, with stories that thieves sought valuables and even gold dental work. Visit respectfully during cemetery hours.
