Inside the Rhode Island State House is a bronze Napoleon cannon disabled during the artillery barrage preceding Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg. A Confederate projectile lodged in the muzzle, permanently freezing the weapon in the instant it was knocked out of battle. Visitors must follow current State House public-access and security procedures.
