A gold camp that reached around a thousand residents in the 1890s and dwindled as the gold ran out. The BLM keeps it as one of Montana's best-preserved ghost towns, with historic buildings and a seasonal visitor centre. Ten dollars for visitors sixteen and over; the last roads are unpaved and winter access is over snow only.
