A reconstructed stone tower rises over the archaeological remains of Colonial Pemaquid, where multiple forts and settlements were repeatedly built, attacked, destroyed, and rebuilt along Maine’s contested early frontier. The current structure recreates part of the 1690s Fort William Henry and overlooks the harbor and excavation grounds.
