Fayette preserves the remains of a nineteenth-century iron-smelting company town on the Garden Peninsula. More than 20 historic buildings and ruins survive around the old harbor and industrial area, giving travelers a walkable, state-managed version of a genuine Upper Peninsula ghost town.
