Inside the Sherman Adams Visitor Center at the summit of Mount Washington, this museum recreates the extreme weather that made the mountain famous. Exhibits cover the observatory, brutal wind, cold and the 231-mph gust measured here in 1934. Reaching the museum requires reaching the summit by hiking, the Auto Road or the Cog Railway, and seasonal mountain access can change rapidly.
