The Exchange Hotel became a receiving hospital during the Civil War and treated tens of thousands of sick and wounded soldiers before later serving other purposes. Today it operates as a museum with medical and wartime displays, while reported apparitions, voices and unexplained activity have made it a frequent paranormal destination.
