Carrie Furnaces 6 and 7 are surviving pieces of the enormous Homestead Works steel complex that once dominated the Monongahela Valley. Rivers of Steel preserves the furnaces and offers scheduled industrial-history tours, but visitors cannot freely enter the site outside authorized programs.
