Italian prisoners of war held at Camp Atterbury built this tiny Catholic chapel in 1943 using limited and salvaged materials. Restored after later vandalism and fire damage, the Chapel in the Meadow survives as a rare physical remnant of the camp's World War II prisoner compound.
