Mount Jackson turned an otherwise ordinary municipal water tower into an enormous basket of apples as a tribute to the Shenandoah Valley's apple-growing heritage. The painted tower has been a roadside landmark for decades and remains easily visible from Interstate 81 and nearby public roads.
