Mount Airy’s museum preserves one of the largest collections of Andy Griffith memorabilia, much of it donated by Griffith’s longtime friend Emmett Forrest. Costumes, props, personal items, and television artifacts connect the real North Carolina town with the fictional Mayberry it helped inspire.
