The museum occupies a former plantation superintendent's house across from the old Puʻunēnē sugar mill and interprets the machinery, labor, irrigation, and immigrant communities behind Maui's sugar industry. Large outdoor equipment gives the stop an industrial scale beyond a normal local-history museum.
