A self-guided BLM loop crosses active and historic dinosaur-quarry country near the Utah line, with interpretive panels explaining fossils still embedded in the Morrison Formation. Visitors must leave all fossils and rock in place.

A short trail beside the Colorado School of Mines campus preserves dinosaur tracks, palm impressions and traces of the ancient environment left in vertical sandstone walls. The fossils are outdoors and can be seen from the marked public trail.
